Not Possible To Evacuate Indians from Other Countries during Lockdown: Centre To Delhi HC

The Central Government yesterday informed the Delhi High Court it is not possible for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to organize any kind of evacuation of Indian nationals from Bangladesh or any other country due to the lockdown situation.

The Ministry’s response before the court came on a PIL filed by advocate Gaurav Kumar Bansal seeking direction to the authorities to take steps for safe return of Indians who are stuck in Bangladesh.

A bench of Justices Sanjeev Sachdeva and Navin Chawla, conducted the hearing through video conferencing.

Centre had informed that it had appointed Nodal Officers to help Indian citizens stranded in Bangladesh in the wake of global COVID-19, outbreak.
